6.  Facts:  One of the largest mountain ranges in North America, the Appalachians stretch for almost 2,000 miles on the eastern half of the United States and Canada. 

7.  Facts #2: Though most of the range is located in the United States, parts of the Rockies near Alaska are in Canada.
